Can hunters tame baby pets in world of warcraft?

Having used to have played WoW when you tamed an animal it stayed the way it was. For awhile the Baby Polar Bear from Northrend was tameable, but when it became a pet it scaled to the pet size really badly. As for like baby boars and lions, I believe they are untameable.
